Standing in the present, rooted in the past, protecting the future by tending to the vā.™
To bridge the vā (relational space) between the Pacific Islands and the diaspora through cultural exchange, traditional education, and holistic wellbeing. By nurturing the sacred space between people and heritage—through indigenous arts including dance, language, navigation, and traditional crafts—we empower our community to preserve their identity and cultivate physical, mental, and spiritual health.
To establish a lasting cultural sanctuary where Pacific Islander identity, arts, and wellbeing are preserved, celebrated, and passed down to nurture future generations.
To achieve our mission, Tausi Vā delivers signature community programs, interactive workshops, and educational spaces focused on:
Performing & Expressive Arts: Our foundational program offering multi-modal instruction in performing and expressive arts, including dance, chant, language, and oral traditions. The Hālau serves as our signature program for this cultural discipline.
Material Arts & Preservation: Hands-on workshops in traditional crafts, textile arts, toolmaking, and heritage preservation techniques.
Community Wellbeing: Intergenerational gathering spaces that foster physical, mental, and spiritual health while tending to the vā.
